Advocacy in Action

We, the Community Climate Action Network, invite you to our second Campaign for Climate Hui of 2026.

This Hui brings together people working in community-led climate action across Tāmaki Makaurau to explore how we can strengthen our collective voice in the lead-up to the General Election.

Learning from Advocacy Leaders

Rather than a workshop, this Hui will feature a series of guest speakers from across the environmental sector, sharing practical insights, opportunities, and resources to help community groups engage effectively in the democratic process.

Whether your organisation is already active in advocacy or you're just beginning to explore what's possible, this session will help you understand where your efforts can have the greatest impact.

What You'll Learn

Throughout the session you'll hear about a range of approaches to election-year advocacy, including:

  • where to find reliable information about candidates and party positions

  • ways community organisations can encourage civic participation and informed voting

  • how to communicate with your audiences in ways that are educational, non-partisan, and effective

  • upcoming campaigns, events, and opportunities to get involved

  • what other organisations across the network are planning in the months ahead

We'll also leave time for networking and, where possible, brief updates from attendees about the advocacy work happening within their own organisations.

Share Your Campaign

If your organisation is planning a significant advocacy campaign or election-related initiative that would benefit the wider network, we'd love to hear from you.

Please get in touch before the Hui to discuss whether we can include your work as part of the programme.

Building Momentum Together

The General Election presents an important opportunity to elevate community voices and influence the decisions that will shape Aotearoa's climate future.

Whether you're looking for practical tools, inspiration, new connections, or simply a clearer understanding of the advocacy landscape, this Hui is designed to help equip our network for the months ahead.

Join us to learn, connect, and strengthen community-led climate action across Tāmaki Makaurau.
