Her leadership connects grassroots action with strategic outcomes, working closely with councils, iwi, and community partners to deliver impactful, place-based solutions. She is particularly committed to equity and inclusion, ensuring programmes are accessible, culturally relevant, and responsive to diverse communities.

BEAUTIFICATION TRUST, CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

Daniel Barthow has been the CEO of the Beautification Trust since 2020, where he focuses on the impact the organisation can have in supporting communities to live zero-waste lives, protect the environment, and reduce emissions.

He brings to the committee a practical, hands-on approach and more than 20 years’ experience in the not-for-profit sector across a broad range of roles, including governance, community engagement, marketing, communications, and revenue generation.

AOTEAROA SUSTAINABILITY GRID, CHIEF EXECUTIVE

Jai Singh is the founder and Chair of Aotearoa Sustainability Grid Charitable Trust (ASG) and a Trustee/coordinator at Gribblehirst Community Hub.

He brings to CCAN experience in community-led climate action, sustainability and engagement, with a particular focus on connecting South Asian, migrant and diverse communities.

His work focuses on supporting communities to build practical climate solutions and ensuring their voices are part of Auckland’s climate conversations.

KAIPĀTIKI PROJECT, KAIHAUTŪ | CHIEF EXECUTIVE

Teresa joined Kaipātiki Project in 2025, continuing the work of a well-established community organisation with deep roots and strong relationships across Tāmaki Makaurau.

As one of the founding members of CCAN, Kaipātiki Project has played an important role in shaping the network since its inception.

Teresa continues this commitment as a member of the CCAN Steering Group, bringing a passion for people and nature alongside a strong commitment to collaborative leadership and community-led change.

WAIHEKE RESOURCES TRUST, CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

Mike leads Waiheke Resources Trust, turning climate action and nature-led regeneration into practical results, proof that local leadership can set the national standard.

As Co-Chair of Environment Hubs Aotearoa, he connects that work to a nationwide network of community-led sustainability hubs. He believes the best solutions come from the people living the problem, and builds his work around backing communities to create a pathway forward.

CHINESE CONSERVATION EDUCATION TRUST, OPERATIONS MANAGER

Joey brings expertise in environmental education, waste minimisation and inclusive community engagement to CCAN through her work with the Chinese Conservation Education Trust.

Her work spans practical zero-waste initiatives, active transport and textile repair, using bilingual facilitation and community-led education to connect diverse communities with practical pathways to sustainability.

FOREST & BIRD, AUCKLAND REGIONAL CONSERVATION MANAGER

Stacey Hill is Forest & Bird's representative on CCAN's Steering Group and Advocacy Subgroup. She works with network partners to identify opportunities for collective climate advocacy, share information and resources and empower members to engage with decision-makers on climate and environmental issues.

KAI WEST, COLLABORATIONS BROKER

Michele brings expertise in collaborative leadership and food sovereignty to CCAN through her work with Kai West, a collaborative initiative strengthening community-led food systems across West Auckland.

Guided by Te Tiriti o Waitangi, Kai West connects organisations and communities to build local food resilience, support food sovereignty, and improve access to healthy, affordable, and culturally appropriate kai.
