Part of CCAN's mission is to influence decisions that affect the systems our groups operate within. Through the Your Stories, Our Message campaign we hope to gather stories, case studies, and key insights from climate activators in our community that point directly towards systemic barriers for community-led climate groups.

Whether it was funding, processes, permissions, or another external barrier, your experience will help us identify common challenges and better represent our network in conversations with decision-makers.

What We Are Looking For

We understand that “more funding” is frequently at the top of the list of barriers for climate and environmental groups: we hear you! However our hope with this campaign is to gain deeper and more specific insights and examples. Perhaps there are particular processes or expectations placed on your group by partners, funders, businesses, or councils that—with better planning, policies, decision-making, or communication on their part—could enable your mahi to have a greater impact. Perhaps you have concrete examples of where things have gone wrong in the past (or where things went really well) because of a particularly convoluted (or a particularly accommodating) funding agreement, administrative system or relationship with an influential partner.

These examples and specific insights are the building blocks for content and discussions that influence decisions and drive change, and that’s what we’re after.
